Electical engineer who had served as & Franklin Roosevelt's science advisor during WWII, worried that progress was being held back by scientists' inability to keep abreast of information relevant to their work.
He is known for helping to create the Differential Analyzer and for supporting wartime government research, such as the Manhattan Project.
